VALCOURT HISTORY

Auguste and Lucien Valcourt founded Valcourt & Frère Enr. in 1958. They were then manufacturing wrought iron staircases and balconies.

In 1975, Valcourt & Frère Enr. begins the manufacture of customized fireplace doors and discontinues the production of staircases and balconies. The company becomes the leader in Quebec and Ontario for customized fireplace doors in 1976.

Emerged as a master in the art of manufacturing customized fireplace doors, Valcourt and Frère Inc begins the production of its first prefabricated fireplace in 1992, the FP1.

During the following years, the company develops a whole range of prefabricated fireplaces from decorative fireplaces to high efficiency EPA certified fireplaces.

In 1993 the company becomes the property of Auguste Valcourt's sons, Daniel and Pierre Valcourt. In 2000, Valcourt and Frère Inc becomes Foyers Valcourt Inc.

In 2007, Foyers Valcourt Inc. was sold to SBI (Stove Builder International Inc.). Some important changes were brought to the manufacturing installations and today, Valcourt operates in a state-of-the-art facility. Since the acquisition by SBI, the Valcourt products have enjoyed enormous success outside of Quebec and now benefit from a well established North American retailer network.
